Our Services
From pain relief to stress management, my tailored acupuncture treatments are designed to support your body and mind, helping you feel your best every day.
Acupuncture is a branch of traditional medicine that has been practised in China and the Far East for thousands of years. A growing body of evidence-based clinical research is discovering how the body responds to acupuncture and its benefits for a wide range of common health conditions.
Also known as cosmetic acupuncture or facial rejuvenation acupuncture, Facial Enhancement Acupuncture was established in 2004 and is now practised worldwide. It is a totally natural way of reducing the signs of ageing.
As a woman I am passionate about treating all aspects of women’s health. This ranges from issues such as acupuncture for fertility (either as a standalone treatment or alongside IVF/ICSI), pregnancy related issues, menopausal/ perimenopausal symptoms, PCOS, amenorrhoea, dysmenorrhea, PMS, endometriosis and more.
Moxibustion (or moxa) is a therapeutic adjunctive technique of classical Chinese medicine. It is a Chinese herb made from common mugwort (artemisia vulgaris). Due to its warming nature, moxa has a stimulating effect on the body, helps to build energy levels and enhances the effects of acupuncture by warming & nourishing specific points or areas of the body.
Cupping can be used as an adjunctive technique alongside acupuncture or it can be a treatment in its own right. The suction causes the skin and superficial muscle layer to be drawn into the cup. Occasionally you may have a ‘bruised’ appearance in the shape of the cups on the area of the body stimulated. Research has shown that no blood vessels are broken and the muscles have not been traumatised in any way. The redness indicates there has been an increase in the circulation under the cups. Benefits of cupping include:
• Encourages circulation.
• Assists adhesions and scarring by lifting, separating, and hydrating the muscle tissues.
• Clears inflammation, congestion and stagnation of the skin, muscle, bones, joints and organs.
• Releases tension and reduces pain.
• Rebuilds healthy tissue and helps the body to regenerate.
I am trained and insured to prescribe Su Wen Herbs where appropriate. These were created by Giovanni Maciocia in 1994 for use by licensed acupuncturists and herbalists. The formulas are specifically designed to address the unique health conditions and patterns commonly seen in the West. They are backed by decades of research and experience. As well as the ‘core’ line of herbal formulas within Su Wen Herbs, there are also specific lines being dedicated to gynecological and paediatric conditions. The use of a herbal medicine is useful to ‘free’ the acupuncture in some instances which can become simpler and more focused on a specific problem. All herbs are both vegetarian and vegan friendly as well as being sustainable.
Auricular, or ear, acupuncture is a diagnostic and therapeutic self-regulating homeostatic mechanism of the whole body. It is one of several microsystems throughout the human body, a self-contained system within the whole system. Auricular acupuncture points can be used alongside body points to enhance overall treatment. However, there are specific acupuncture treatments using auricular for the following areas:
• Cessation of smoking.
• Weight loss and overeating.
• Insomnia.
• Gaming and gambling addiction.
• Drug and alcohol addiction.
This is a traditional Chinese healing method, using a smooth-edged tool to stroke the surface of the skin. This can then raise small, red, rash like dots at the surface of the skin called petechiae. These marks are not painful but a good indicator of what is happening in the body and where the stagnation is.
Gua sha can help relieve symptoms including:
• Headaches & migraines
• Neck & Shoulder pain
• Frozen shoulder
• Back Pain
• Jaw clenching
• Soft tissue injuries
• Scoliosis
• Spondylosis
• Tennis and golfer elbow
• Upper respiratory infections or difficulty breathing
• Colds
• Long Covid

I started being treated by Rachel at Flo Acupuncture in November 2024 and, when I started, I wasn’t prepared for just how life changing the results would be. I have a chronic pain condition and I never thought I’d get to a stage where I’d be near enough pain free, but Rachel has helped me to achieve that. Rachel is kind, caring and accommodating - she understands the needs of each of her patients and really truly wants to help you. Rachel instantly makes you feel at home and you feel incredibly safe in her care. I cannot thank her enough, Rachel genuinely has changed my life, vastly improved the quality of my life and I don’t know where I’d be without her.Posted on Monika Ostrowska2025-07-01Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Cannot recommend Rachel at Flo Acupuncture enough! I go regularly for acupuncture and it has made such a difference to me! I have been seeing Rachel for about 2 months for help with depression and anxiety issues. The treatment has been very successful and i would strongly recommend Flo Acupuncture to anyone seeking help with similar problems.Posted on Sally Wagstaff2025-05-08Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I've seen Rachel a few times for acupuncture - I live near Lichfield and wanted someone properly qualified and local, and she has a full acupuncture qualification. She has treated me for a few things including some muscle aches but most recently I have had acupuncture for (very!) late diagnosed endometriosis and adenomyosis. After just one treatment I have gone from constant pain to realising that I have had virtually no pain since my last treatment. I have had a second treatment and I'm hopeful for great things!Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
